A wide variety of materials are offered in the creation of jewelry...clay, semi precious stones, pearls, magazine pages and much more. Our small children are introduced to basic jewelry-making techniques using beads, twine, rope and, of course, shiny stones. The elementary to middle school age children are introduced to more advance jewelry making incorporating threading techniques and the tying off. The older students are creating pieces for public sale, exhibits and to take home, they make bracelets, necklaces, rings, glass fusion, clay, paper art pieces.
In December 2015 GIA Certified Jewelry Designer Azee James gave a series of classes in stringing pearls, design and composition and attaching clasp to bracelets and necklaces. January classes taught by Andia Narcis, college student and long term designer. We will return to the jewelry classes again in April, 2016.
